Paul-Loup Chatin, who hails from the Paris region, was a latecomer to circuit racingbut has lost no time carving out a place for himself in the sport. After cuttinghis teeth successfully in karting, he made his single-seater debut at the age of 18 andsoon emerged as a front-runner in the World Series by Renault. He was recruited as amember of the FFSA French Circuit Racing squad before being taken under the wingof the FIA Institute Young Driver Excellence Academy. His time in Formula Renault2.0 harvested victory. However, after doing Formula Renault 3.5 testing during thewinter break, he decided to take a different turn by joining Signatech-Alpine. Afterbeing named as the team’s reserve drive for last year’s Le Mans 24 Hours, he collectedthree wins and four pole positions in the LM PC class on his way to securing the category’stitle in the 2014 European Le Mans Series.
