The younger brother of the five-time MotoGP world champion, Álex Márquez also shone on two wheels at a very young age. Managed by Emilio Alzamora, the Catalan started in the Spanish championship at fourteen. Winning the title in 2012, he started racing in Grand Prix the following year and scored his first success in Japan, at the end of the season. In 2014, he made it ten times to the podium and won the Moto3 World Championship title in the last race in Valencia ahead of Jack Miller. He then moved on Moto2 with the Marc VDS team. Regularly at the forefront, Álex had his first wins in the 2017 season, finishing in fourth position. Less successful last year, the Spaniard is counting on the reorganization of his team and the switch to the Triumph engine to win the title this year.
